As a business psychologist, former business owner and executive, Dr. Lewis has worked with legal and medical professionals, business owners, managers, and corporate level executives in developing their careers, whether they are looking to advance within their current employment situation or find themselves in transition seeking a new position or even a new career. Her focus is on helping clients develop their skills and the self- and other-awareness necessary to find satisfaction in their work. If needed, work involves determining the right job fit, overcoming self-defeating behavioral patterns that limit advancement and enthusiasm in the workplace, then providing the insight and strategies needed to enable more effective functioning. For those in leadership roles, the primary focus is on developing the requisite professional knowledge and behaviors to enable effective participation in strategy development. As skills and confidence develop, clients are better able to motivate themselves and team members and when needed, to create supportive work conditions where employees can develop their innate abilities in a satisfying way.
As counsel to businesses and corporate leaders, Dr. Lewis applies psychological insight, business experience and an educational orientation to help elaborate plans for designing and building requisite organizational structures, with a strong focus on developing strategies for growth, improving processes and practices to improve workplace performance, develop management teams and improve talent retention.
As COO of a Midwest manufacturing firm, Dr. Lewis lead an intense corporate redevelopment/rebranding effort first as an outside consultant, then internally as Chief Operating Officer. Earlier in her career she was managing partner at Interlink, a software development company providing a range of services for newspapers based on SAS model. Her role included building and developing the management, sales and customer support team and collaborating on the development of marketing to effectively implement a SAS strategy. She has also held sales, middle and upper management roles in manufacturing and real estate companies.
Dr. Lewis holds a Masters in Management/Masters in Business Administration from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, with an emphasis in Organization Behavior. She attended Adler University in Chicago for four years, working on a doctorate in clinical psychology before switching to the Business Psychology program at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. At Adler, she was distinguished as a doctoral scholar under the famed Adlerian, Dr. Harold Mosak. At the Chicago School, her doctoral research focused on the area of behavioral economics. Her research, Effects of the Interaction of Trait Optimism and State Affects of Anger, Anxiety and Happiness on Decision Making Behaviors under Risk, attempted to determine what, if any connection exists between how an individual’s gender, contemporaneous feelings and underlying trait optimism affect their decision making when risk is involved.
Dr. Lewis is an amateur pianist and cellist with a passion for music, literature and is a World War II history buff, focused on the leadership dynamics of Germany and the United States military leadership. Currently, she resides in South Bend, Indiana with her Standard Poodle, Pic, and tends a small farm in southwest Michigan’s wine country in her spare time.
Within the realm of mental health, Dr. Fasula provides a variety of psychological services and leading-edge treatment modalities to assist individuals, groups, and families cope with various issues that arise throughout the lifespan. She applies an approach that integrates an individual’s strengths and assets at a more conscious and intentional level to build a foundation of positive mental health and stability. With almost 20 years of experience, she develops a personalized plan of cognitive development and applies research-based training applications to help harness the brain’s potential, enhance quality of life, and anchor skills and strategies that maintain optimal performance.
An Adlerian, Dr. Fasula trained directly under one of world’s most renowned Adlerian psychologists and founder of Adler University, Dr. Harold Mosak. Also referred to as Individual Psychology, the Adlerian model focuses on the context through which individuals experience symptomatology as well as their distinctive perception of individual circumstances. The foundations of Individual Psychology are applicable and pertinent to the psychology of business, as context and perceptions within the corporate environment are critical to understanding and enhancing professional dynamics. Through her extensive psychological training and background, Dr. Fasula offers a unique insight and understanding of individual development and how it is applied in an organizational setting.
Dr. Fasula graduated from Adler University with a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) and a Master of Arts in Counseling (M.A.). She earned a Master of Science in Social Science (M.A.), Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from Florida State University. Certified in Neurofeedback, she served on the Board of Directors for the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR) and is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Florida Psychological Association (FPA), ISNR, and Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (SCEH).
In her spare time, Dr. Fasula is the devoted mother of a delightful toddler and serves on the Board of Directors for Greyhounds In Motion (GIM), which helps facilitate transportation and adoption of greyhounds and other sighthounds in need.
